Engineering Programme Level 2
The Apprenticeship Programme is a milestone based system, usually lasting approximately two years.
The first year Initial Engineering Training is carried out in our Engineering Training Centre and the following year in company.
There are five milestones to be achieved to complete the full Apprenticeship.
Milestone 1:
- Initial Engineering Training carried out in our Engineering Training Centre.
NVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (minimum 3 units).
Milestone 2:
Technical Certificate Further Education -1 -2 year course.
City & Guilds 2800 series award or progression award or Edexcel BTEC First Certificate award completed at a Technical college during day release.
Milestone 3:
Key Skills.
Mandatory outcomes are 5 Key Skill units at Levels 1 and 2 started during the first year of training and completed in company.
Milestone 4:
National Vocational Qualification – full award.
Mandatory outcome is an NVQ Level 2 – either full Performing Engineering Operation (PEO) or specific i.e. Maintenance, CAD etc.
